Matchpal sends automated notifications to keep students, providers, and admins informed about important events.

Types of Notifications

Email Notifications

Most notifications are sent via email:

  • Match notifications
  • Proposal alerts
  • Session reminders
  • Balance warnings
  • Status updates

In-App Notifications

Some events also show in the dashboard:

  • New proposals (for providers)
  • Relationship updates
  • System alerts

Notification Settings

System-Wide Settings

Admins can configure:

  • Which notifications are enabled
  • Timing (e.g., reminders 24 hours before)
  • Templates used for each notification

User Preferences

Users may be able to:

  • Opt out of certain notifications
  • Change communication preferences
  • Set notification frequency

Notification Timing

Immediate

Sent right away:

  • Match notifications
  • Proposal alerts
  • Status changes

Scheduled

Sent at specific times:

  • Session reminders (e.g., 24 hours before)
  • Weekly digests
  • Periodic check-ins

Triggered by Conditions

Sent when conditions met:

  • Low balance (when below threshold)
  • Inactivity (when no sessions for period)
  • Expiration (when grant nearing expiry)

Managing Notifications

Viewing Sent Notifications

Check email logs to see:

  • When they were sent
  • Delivery status
